Bleach en anglais (update sur la page 2)

Certaines personnes le savent, d'autres non, mais aujourd'hui Cartoons Network a diffusé le premier épisode de Bleach avec les voix anglaises.

Si le succès de Bleach est le même que Naruto, on ne devrait pas tarder de voir une version française de Bleach d'ici quelques mois. Je crée donc ce thread afin de parler de l'adaptation, des éventuels reproches ou bon points de la version de C-N ^^.

Déjà un bon point, ils ont laissés les opening et ending.

Pas vu de censures. Niveau voix c'est bon, je trouve même Rukia excellente, la voix est presque similaire à l'original; par contre la voix de Kon dans la preview pue la merde (je sais pas si c'est sa voix définitive). Sinon ils ont traduits Shinigamis par Soul reaper, et ils ont laissés Kido, Bakudo et Zanpakuto tels quels.

Bref, bonne adaptation pour le moment. Je doute qu'on ait un truc de ce niveau en France...

Au passage Bleach7 a interviewé celui qui fait la voix d'Isshin il y a quelques semaines, mais avec leur mise à jour je ne trouve pas le nouveau lien sur leur site. Je la copie donc ici (merci google cache ^^).

Patrick Seitz Interview

I would like to first thank Patrick Seitz for allowing me to do this interview. For those who don't know, Patrick Seitz is currently the English voice actor for Isshin Kurosaki, father of Ichigo. He has done several voice acting parts, including Luke Valentine in Hellsing, Lee Linho in Read Or Die, Raul Creed in Ergo Proxy, and recently as Yoshihiko Kenjo in Boys Be… He has also audio directed (ADR) other anime shows including Girls Bravo; a personal guilty pleasure show; and Kamichu. Parts of this interview also references a previous panel, that Patrick was a part of about audio directing, and a TV interview, that took place right before my interview.

Hinalover: Given the small role you have in Bleach, are you going to be more active in the ADR [ed. given that he has done directing before] of the series?

Patrick: I've not worked with Studiopolis before, so I'm not even sure if they know I do ADR adapting/directing. Nobody's approached me about it. But I wouldn't pass up that opportunity if it came!

Hinalover: What about other roles?

Patrick: Given that this series is so long, and the ensemble gets so large, I would hope so.

Hinalover: Do you get the chance to meet with other cast members?

Patrick: Since we record one actor at a time, the only time I'd see other cast members is if I got to my session early and passed them as they left, or if I run into the next actor as I'm heading out at the end. I know some of the cast members from other shows, though. I've worked with and directed Stephanie Sheh [ed. Orihime Inoue], who's currently directing me in "Paradise Kiss," and I've directed Johnny Yong Bosch in a few things, and I know Michelle Ruff from having had her play Miharu in "Girls Bravo". I see folks around town, though, out socially.

Hinalover: Are you at liberty to reveal any of the un-announced cast members? Such as…

Patrick: Chad?

Hinalover: Yea! As well as Kon and Urahara?

Patrick: Truthfully, I couldn't tell you. I'm not sure who they have for any of the three of them. But when I went in to record, they did already have tracks laid down for Chad—so they have somebody, I just didn't recognize the voice off the top of my head.

Hinalover: Did you do research for your character before you started working on the series?

Patrick: Oh yeah! I checked out a lot of fan-sites—including yours, most likely. I tried to get as much info about Isshin as possible, so I could get a feel for what he's all about. I like to read up on my characters before I go into the booth to record them. There's not always a chance to see the show or see the character before you go in, so getting my hands on even a brief bio helps. And friends of mine who have been watching all of the fan-subs and reading all the scanlations told me about Isshin's big reveal later in the series [ed. If you don't know, read chapter 187].

Hinalover: Even that hasn't been shown in the anime yet.

Patrick: Yeah, but I did see an image relating to it in a scanlation.

Hinalover: Did you watch any of the anime before you started working on the dub?

Patrick: I watched the first six or seven episodes—all the night before that first morning of work, as I recall!

Hinalover: I know what you mean, given that my sister is a Theater major. And I've seen her do a twenty page background story for a ten minute monolog.

Patrick: That can get to be excessive. At a certain point, it's just academic masturbation. It's a tough balance to maintain. On one hand, you don't want to go into a series and a character totally blind, not knowing what's going on. On the other hand, though, you don't want to have delved so deeply into the material that your take on the character and lines is set in stone and you have a tough time taking direction from the director that doesn't line up with your preconceived notions—which might be right, but could also go totally against the director's vision. In a play or musical, you have the luxury of reading the entire piece before you start rehearsing. You know everything your character knows, and then some. You observe their arc. With anime dubbing, all of the show you see while you're in the booth recording are the bits where your character is speaking. Your character could be present in all sorts of scenes, but if they don't say anything, you as the actor won't be seeing it in the booth.

Hinalover: As you just said [in the previous interview], you think this is probably your biggest series yet?

Patrick: Yeah. This is the first long series I've worked on. Everything else has been somewhere between 12 and 24 episodes long. Now, "Hellsing" was very popular—I didn't realize how popular at the time, because it was only the second or third show I'd worked on, and I had no idea how large or enthusiastic the anime community was. But, with "Bleach" being so much longer than "Hellsing," you can't really compare the popularity of the two. It's like apples and oranges.

Hinalover: Yea, almost one-hundred episodes and counting. Actually if you look around and see all of these people with white vestments with numbers on their back. They are representing Captains that don't show up till around episode seventeen when the series goes into a fifty episode arc called "Soul Society arc".

Patrick: They're everywhere; it's overwhelming. Hey, I've got a question for you.

Hinalover: Shoot!

Patrick: I know Isshin disappears for a while and then pops up later. When does that happen?

Hinalover: Well, somewhere around episode fifteen or seventeen, since that is when the "Soul Society arc starts". And there is a filler-type episode around episode thirty-three, that I'm not sure of off-hand if he is a part of or not. But he doesn't really come back until around episode sixty-nine when everyone returns to Earth. But I know in the middle of the "Soul Society arc", they start to have, at the end of each episode, a mini comedy sketch; called "Shinigami Golden"; that is either about random stuff, or is an alternative look at an event that took place in the current episode. Most likely they will show them only in the DVD, but still. I'm not sure if he is in that as well or not. Well…given that Isshin's character can be very goofy, but at times can be very thought-provoking, do you think you can pull that off and still make an impression on the fans?

Patrick: The more multifaceted a character is, the more fun they are to portray. Characters that are just goofballs from beginning to end are plenty fun, and if that's all Isshin was, he'd still be a hoot. But knowing that he has a serious side, that he has a past that he keeps to himself…it really enriches him. I've done more serious characters than funny ones, but I'm pretty sure I can pull off both sides of his personality. Time will tell!

Hinalover: What type of voice are you using for Isshin [ed. Patrick already has a fairly deep talking voice]?

Patrick: Basically, it ended up being the same voice I used for Isshin when I auditioned for him. When I went in that first day to record, they played back my audition track, and that's the voice I stuck with. It's sort of boisterous and gruff, sort of like the voice I used for my upcoming character in "Eureka 7". You know, I was surprised to get Isshin. When I went in to audition, they had me read for Ichigo, Uyru Ishida, Chad, and Isshin. I hadn't worked with Studiopolis before, and I don't think they would have even had me read for those first two if they'd known how low my voice naturally is. I mean, I gave both of them my best shot, but let's face it—there's a reason I'm not cast as young guys. Isshin was more in my range, certainly, but I didn't know who else they were considering for it, and figured they'd give him to somebody a little older. Really, with his voice being so low, I figured Chad was my best bet. Isshin was a pleasant surprise.

You know, anime VO is sort of odd. It's a lot like opera. You've got full-grown men and women playing teenage boys and girls, women doing trouser roles as boys, youngish guys with low voices playing older characters. This is the second time I've voiced a father or father-type character to one of Johnny's, and I think he's a bit older than I am.

Hinalover: From the different interviews with other cast members, they have said that Viz is trying to stay faithful to the series. Would you agree with that remark?

Patrick: I've only seen a few episodes of the original, and none of the dubbed episodes yet, so I'm in no position to say. But the show is already so popular, I'd imagine they'd want to leave it as-is. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Hinalover: But I can say this, from what I've read from other members; both on our site, and from other forums; once they saw the list of names, they felt leery, but they were hopeful.

Patrick: I noticed that. I skimmed a lot of forums, and this is what I read in a nutshell: "Yea Johnny, boo Johnny, yea Johnny, boo Johnny, yea Johnny…wait, Patrick who?" You can't please everybody, and it's not even really a good idea to try—you end up not making any choices and playing everything middle-of-the-road. But we're all going to do the best we can, which is all we can do, anyway.

Hinalover: Do you know how much editing Viz is going to perform on the show (considering Viz is working on Naruto, and they have edited some things for the TV release, and released an uncut format on DVD much later)?

Patrick: Couldn't tell you—not because I'm being coy, but because I have no idea.

Hinalover: Have you heard if they are keeping the original Opening and Closing songs for the show, or is Viz going to create their own generic music for the Opening and Closing songs?

Patrick: I'm not sure. I hope they keep the original songs, which I'd imagine is their intention, but I know that music licensing can be this really expensive, labyrinthine process. I assume they'll stick to the originals unless it's financially untenable to do so.

Hinalover: Finally, what episode are you up to in recording the series?

Patrick: Well, we are currently dubbing the second volume [ed. Patrick mentioned in an earlier panel that dubbing companies generally don't record episodes until they get the DVD masters from the Japanese company].

Hinalover: So somewhere between episodes five and eight?

Patrick: Somewhere in there, yeah.

Hinalover: Well that is all I have. Thank you for your time.

Sinon ca va , le générique et les musiques d'ambiance sont les mêmes

On est tellement habitué à la vo que ca choque mes oreilles !!
Bon sinon pour le moment, les voix vont assez bien aux personnages !!
Espérons que si version française, il y a elle sera mieux que celle de fma !! -___-

Enfin, je vais rester à la vo, c'est cent fois mieux !! ^^

J' avoue sa fait assez bizzare surtout la voix de Ichigo encore rukia sa peut aller.
Mais je prefére bleach japonais sous titré francais c' est meiux c'est comme naruto le version francaise a completement été raté.
Mais bref vous ne savez pas quand les épisode hs de bleach finissent parceque là je m' ennuie a mort.

Eh oh, c'est fini l'epoque du Club Dorothée, la censure ne se fait quasiment plus...


Suffit de voir les animes du cable et ceux de canal +, AUCUNE censure (on se souviendra des scenes très gore de FMA, Samourai Champloo, Hellsing et j'en passe, passés a la TV...)

Sinon, pour ce que j'en ai entendu, c'est assez quelquonc, voix par moment horrible, moyennes par d'autre moment, mais bonne traduction, si ce n'est cet affreux Soul Reaper, etonnant quand on sait, dit plus haut, que des termes japonais, sont restés tel quels, et pas traduit...

Désormais, comme la VF de Bleach se fait imminante dans les mois a venir, je prie pour que Benoit Dupac soit present dans le casting, voire carrement que ca soit le studio Chinkel qui s'occupe du doublage en VF (très bon studio de doublage, leurs talents n'est plus a remettre en doute...)

WOUHA!! je suis trop surprit... je suis tellement habituer que les doublage sois ultra-nul... mais celui-la il est super (pour l'instant j'ai hate de voir le reste).
La voit de Rukia est super je trouve celle d'Ichigo est fidèle au personnage...
Il reste a voir les autres persos genre Ishida, Chad, Urahara, etc...
J'espere de grande chose pour de doublage vivement les autre épisode

La VF de Naruto n'est pas censurée au niveau de l'image, je vois pas poruquoi celle de Bleach le serait :?

Tout ce que j'espère c'es tuqe ce sera pas made in Europe mdr, mais y a peu de chances que ça soit eux à mon avis...

Ça fait quand même plaisir de revoir els premiers épisodes et leur effet flouté qui produisaient cette ambiance si particulière qui me faisaient tant aimer cette série à ses débuts
